Muchas Gracias

Gracias! to everyone who attended the first annual Holy Family Spring Fiesta on Sunday, May 7th. Gratitude goes out to Father Enrique Salazar, BSJ member and pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church, for spearheading this great effort. Along with our own Saint Joseph Catholic School families, many other members of Holy Family Parish pitched in to create a wonderful day of food, fun, fellowship and fundraising! In addition to the live music, dancing and a dunking booth, attendees enjoyed authentic homemade cuisine from Mexico and Central America. From pupusas to paletas, enchiladas to chilindrinas, tacos to tortas, nobody went away hungry! A special thank you to Carlos Hernandez, Archdiocesan Director of Latino Enrollment and Engagement, for spending part of his Sunday at the Fiesta! Proceeds from the Fiesta will benefit our school’s tuition assistance program.

Eco Week Mountain Excursion

Last week Saint Joseph’s 6th graders had an adventurous excursion at Saint JP II Outdoor Lab for Eco-Week. Students enjoyed spending time at Buckhorn Camp blending together faith and science as they went on hikes, attended Mass, and bonded together through games and activities. The memories from Eco-Week will last a lifetime for the 6th graders, such as: making fires when learning about survival, hearing Dr. Hubbeling connect theology and science in nature, playing Gaga Ball, or finding friendly donkeys roaming around on the camp grounds. After such an amazing experience, the 6th graders have come back closer together and are ready to finish the rest of the school year. I would like to give a big “thank you” to all the parents and staff who made Eco-Week possible! We could not have had Eco-Week without you!
